Contemplation | Blog Post #21

Well my adoring fans! As I'm sure you have read about all of my shopping escapades, this blog post is being written the same day as the previous one. Its a later hour, and in the all engulfing darkness i had a realization. My posts have been growing much more casual, or rather they are speaking towards you all and giving my audience the attention they deserve.

Over the past 8 or so blog posts i have been addressing you regularly and not really been as formal as the first post. I have been making jokes, creating plot points, and even turning my anxious errands into seemingly explorative mini-adventures. When i think of a blog post, a professional one, i think of one the regularly is personal, and yet addresses their audience. This way of thinking has changed how i write my posts.

I originally wrote my posts with formal intentions seeing this as nothing more than a professional update on my progresses of my short film. Even in the previous year, i wrote similarly with my posts just addressing issues or tasks at hand without paying much attention to whoever reads it. I would list information and then write it off as tasks rather than communication. But, a blog post, a public writing that is supposed to be viewed, is also supposed to convey communication too right?

This year I'm changing my style of writing, so that i can engage my audience reading these posts as well as my audience in the theater. Now i believe i should be a little more formal, but perhaps use the same casual tone as if I'm talking to a close friend. After all, without the fan-fare and wild stories, i am nothing more than a professional writing a research paper when instead i should be a cinematographer who entertains and informs. I mean that is the point of this short film, to inform others of synesthesia and entertain them. So I'll be doing the same in my blogs posts now.

Thank you for reading these posts, and for better (i hope its for better) we will be continuing this method to convey thoughts and information over the previous one. Entertainment is the business i am in as a cinematographer, so why not entertain and write too? I hope you all enjoyed this post and my reflection on my work from this year and the previous year. I will catch you all in the next one!
