Animation and Documentaries | Blog Post #45

Going back to edutainment (i still don't like that word), we discussed creating a visual appeal to the documentary to engage audiences to have them learn and additionally entertain them. Here we have exhibit A where animation comes into play.

It is an effective educational tool that can simplify complex content for better understanding for viewers of all ages. It further allows for a higher accessibility rate for audiences who may not understand English so well so that they can follow along in the content. Animation can also help maintain viewer interest, especially in documentaries that deal with data-heavy or technical content. The dynamic and visually engaging nature of animation can captivate audiences and keep them engaged throughout the documentary.

The other day i mentioned that my documentary may be experimental as its going to be a hybrid of presentational infographics and video. So i will be implementing animation for that portion of infographics so i can better engage the audience. I will see you all in the next update post!
